Northville MI boys DQ'd from state entry over uniform rule

Mismatched undergarment sleeves worn by members of the Northville MI boys cross country team drew the attention of meet officials at a regional meet over the weekend.

The Mustangs finished third in the Region 6 meet, earning the final qualification spot, but were notified 90 minutes after the conclusion of the race that they were disqualified per rules involving uniforms.

Compounding a disappointing situation is that one of the members of the three-person committee that weighed in on the matter was the coach of the fourth-place team.
